One of only two true rookies to join the ASP World Tour in 2011 alongside Julian Wilson, Brazilian up-and-comer Alejo Muniz strung together a banner year in 2010 to finish at No. 31 on the ASP World Ranking. The Argentinean-born surfer’s comfort in all conditions after years of training everywhere from his native Brazil to Hawaii have established Muniz as one of the most versatile young surfers on the planet and his results from groveling two-foot beachbreak to clinching the Vans Triple Crown Rookie of the year award prove exactly that.
Entering the 2011 season as the youngest surfer among his peers, Muniz’s well rounded skill-set and hard working attitude could make him a dark horse this year.
