Ashes of Babylon

Get To Know "Ashes of Babylon"

Ashes of Babylon is an authentic roots rock reggae group originally hailing from Lake Charles, Louisiana and now based out of Austin, Texas. They acquired the island vibes and their unique stylings from the sun-soaked shores of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands where AoB members Corey Saucier and Jacob "Debo" Crenshaw met, began jamming, and developed an affinity for the vibes and ites of authentic roots reggae. They are an 8 piece group with heavy riddims driven by Dan Robertson (drums) and Eric Daigle (bass) sweet horn flourishes created by Sammy P. Chapman (alto sax), Max Sprigg (trumpet), and Jacob Crenshaw (tenor sax) and lively guitar licks and flowing 3-part harmonies floatin' through the airwaves courtesy of Corey Saucier (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, baritone horn), Beau Guidry (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Jacob Crenshaw (tenor sax, backing vocals). They also boast the talents of newly acquired Scotty Doland (keys, backing vocals, percussion) hoping to quickly and successfully integrate his abilities to the already strong foundation of the group. Formed in August of 2006, AoB has since performed live all over the south from Austin, Texas to Columbus, Georgia and almost everywhere inbetween. The group has amassed over 30 quality original tunes, believing that a solid original live show must and will be the cornerstone for their success. Their first album, "Revolutionary Roots," was released in November of 2008 and has been met with much critical success to date. The feeling of the album was envisioned to give an authentic picture of the group's live show and doesn't disappoint in doing just that. It is now available for purchase on both iTunes and CD Baby. In January of 2010 the boys went back to the studio, teaming up with Dave Percefull at Yellow Dog Studios in Austin, TX to begin recording their second album to be titled, "Day to Day Living." They're hoping to have everything finished and polished up for a midsummer 2010 release. You can also check out more tunes including a few additional live tracks on their myspace page..
